"London Expo May 2006
05:00 and the alarm is going mad, time to get up and get ready. We have a tube to catch at 6:30, knowing that we have to park, and then walk to the station, we leave at 6, only to find that they have closed the car park for the weekend due to drainage works. As there was nowhere else to park round that area, we quickly drove down to the next station, manage to find a space to park, and get to the station in time for the tube.
We get to the Excel centre at 7:50, and joined the end of the queue, not too bad only about 50 in front of us, now we wait. Doors were supposed to open at 9, but they finally opened at 9:20, so after 1.5 hrs of hanging around, we were ready to do battle.
We headed straight over to the 24 signing area, and picked up our virtual tickets, mid 20's so that was excelent. We got tickets for Tahmoh Penikett (single figures), then the Voyager group (low 50's). These were the only ones doing tickets, so we started. The 2 Klingons had arrived, so we started with them.
Richard Herd was first, he was a great laugh, followed by J G Hertzler, who for some reason started quoting the sceen "Knights of Ni" from Monty Pythons "Holy Grail". A friend of ours had previously been showing him her dragon, and she was in the next queue talking to Robert O'Reilly, so it was mentioned to him, He was having a good look, even trying to read the welsh saying. But I'm not going to say where the tattoo is.
We found Nicole de Boer who was nice, then chatted to Teryl Rothery for a while. We moved down the line to Obi Ndefo, then onto Tahmoh Penikett, although we had a ticket for him, we were able to just walk up and chat. We talked about Battlestar Galactica, and he mentioned that he was flying back on the Sunday, as they were about to start shooting episode 5 of season 3 (he wouldn't tell us what has happened). He also mentioned that they had signed up for 5 seasons, so a long way to go yet.
It was now time to hit the queue for the 24 group. As these were really popular, we were told that we could only take photos from the boxed off area, so whilst Sue went down the line talking to them and getting their autographs, I went and took what photos I could, so I never got to talk to them .
This only left Robert Duncan McNeill to get, we went over to the Voyager line, and joined the back of the small queue. Phew, we only just got there in time, as they announced that the queue was to close for a while, whilst they went on stage for their talk. We quickly got to meet Robert, who was then whisked off with the others. We had no need to meet the other members, as we had already met them at previous conventions.
So that was it, 2 hours, and we had managed to meet all of the stars that we had set out to meet. We even had another chat with Corey Haim who had announced at the last minute that he was going to attend."
