The Amazing Director Guillermo Del Toro and Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen
Mood:  special
Topic: Unbelievable
Director Guillermo Del Toro and his relationship and rapport he has with his fans is unbelievable.  If I had not experienced it I would not believe it.  At the 2006 Fangoria Horror Convention in Burbank Bank California Director Guillermo Del Toro signed, took pictures and talked to each fan in an autograph line for approximately 4 and a half hours.  Now, the line kept moving and no fan stayed that long in line.  It was that it was so many fans. I had volunteered to work the autograph line and I stood there the entire time.  And he is the director not the actor; however, the realism of his talk with the audience on stage prior to autographing was remarkable. It was so real that you felt like you could leave with him and go get something to eat and drink.  He invited the audience to email me him any shorts and/or ideas and indicated that he will review them.  I believe him.  I was there and I tell you this man is the real thing.  I have not seen any other person in the business admired and loved like this in a platonic way other than Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen. Director Guillermo Del Toro indicated to the fans that if it was not for them he could not do what is does.   These two gentlemen must have gone to the same "charm" school for gentlemen. Director Guillermo Del Toro and Lance Henriksen attended Monster Mania May 2006 in Cherry Hill, Jersey.  If you are looking for someplace to go check these two out.  They attend as many conventions as they can for the fans.  It is a small part of giving back to the fans for supporting them.  I love people like this.   By Lafemmenikita07

The aforementioned  is one group of business organizations that knows and enjoys the business they are in and most importantly knows what the genre fans want on an onging and consist basis.  They read the fan feedback and enhance the show each year so the genre fans woll come back and new fans will come.

This was my first show this year.  In addition, to everything going on I enjoyed the fans.  They were exciting, rushing off to panels and asking questions, watching trailors, hitting the vendor tables, etc.  For the most part they was not much trouble for a large group in a confined space and most importantly the celebrities felt comfortable and safe and where out and among the fans. It was a joy for me to witness this. I attended June 2-4 in Burbank, California at the  Burbank Airport Hilton Convention Center.

I was there the day, June 2, 2006 when Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen received a Lifetime Acheivement Award from Fangoria and Creation Entertainment.  The genre fans really enjoyed this and gave Lance a standing ovation.  Kudos to Fangoria, Creation Entertainment, Anchor Bay and IDT Entertainment and most of all to Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen and the other celebrities.  By Lafemmenikita07

In addition, later that night Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen shared his award with a Super Fan. Super fans are fans that have the ability to influence and/or persuade other fans to see, reject, and/or ignore movies and films that do not meet their expectations and/or not the actor/actress that "has fallen out of grace" such as Tom Cruise.  Super Fans are opinionated and may be brutally honest and extremely wise with their economic dollar.  However, if you can win the Super Fan over you may have a lifetime fan and free positive publicity.  Super Fans exist all around us and in various occupations.  One comment thread is that they primarily use the Internet to share their "likes and/or dislikes" about actors/actresses, movies and film plots and whether other fans should watch the movie at the expensive theater or wait for DVD or cable. Super Fans have been around a long time.  However, while in a time when mostly everybody is on some kind of budget referring to Super Fans for entertainment recommendations is as commonplace as a fork and spoon. Super Fans are Bloggers, Blogmasters, Webmasters, etc.  The word of their message crosses the United States into other countries where our American movies also distributed. To get a glimpse of the amount of Super Fans consider the amount of people that will attend the conventions this year such as: Convention Events such as Fangoria, Monster Mania, San Diego Comic Con, Anime, WonderCon, Film Festivals and other venues.  Those that ignore the Super Fans debate over what went wrong when their project performs less than expected and/or the feedback are very critical.  However, actors such as Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen knows the economic power of the Super Fans, are familiar with most of them and where they hang out.  When possible Lance Henriksen attends such conventions and other venues to spread hugs, handshakes, pictures, etc.  Sometimes the archenemy of a movie is the Super-Fan, the kind with the power to create a firestorm of negative buzz on the Internet. By Lafemmenikita07 ("Do not shoot the messenger.)

Super Fan, With A Web Handle of: "Rather Tenacious", according to our sources Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen had something to do with that handle name. However, "RatherTenacious" will not tell the story behind it.  "Rather Tenacious" indicated that it is very innocent yet a special memory for her regarding how the name came about when they she and Lance met each other for the second time.  By Lafemmenikita07

Once again Lance Henriksen steals the show!, August 15, 2006
Reviewer:    Joan E. Michel "TheStare" (Kennewick, WA USA)

I really like this movie because Lance Henriksen is outstanding as Burns...funny, original, and with his incredible ability to move from caring to menacing in the blink of an eye or simply a look. Molly, Michael, and Alex keep repeating the same lines ad nauseam. Lance/Burns is really the only person worth watching and he's wonderful. I SO WISH for a Region 1 DVD version! A must for all Lance Henriksen fans!

Henriksen's uncoventional bad guy comes out to play, October 21, 2001
Reviewer:    becky robison (ft. worth, texas United States)

This is a great who-dun-it with lots of twists and turns. And the man who steals the spotlight is Lance Henriksen (Aliens) with one of his uncoventional scary guy creations. Molly Ringwald (Fresh Horses) and Donal Logue (Dear God) play a couple in hiding in Baha. They are trying to get money from her dad played by Corben Bersen (Major League). They'd had a drug deal go bad earlier and a person was killed. It wasn't until much later that they noticed the strange tourist (Henriksen) hanging around. Then surprising things begin to happen. This is a great movie for Henriksen fans and a great one for those who love a mystery.

 VOLUNTEERS

"Many will be shocked to find,
When the day of judgment nears,
That there’s a special place in Heaven
Set aside for volunteers

Furnished with big recliners
Satin couches and footstools
Foot massages and no radios
And never ending Margaritas

Where there are no Autograph lines
Or a shortage of Gold Pens
No rude photographers
Bad tempers or crying children

A finger snap will bring
Cold drinks and gourmet dinners
And rare treats fit for a king
You ask, “Who will serve these privileged few
And work for all they’re worth?”

Why, all of those who reaped the benefits of your hard work and not once volunteered on Earth!"

Movie on DVD Review of The Invitation starring Lance Henriksen
Mood:  happy
Topic: Lance Was Great

I really enjoyed this movie.  3/4 of it is very serious and thought cruel.  However, the movie has a twist that turns every thing around.  The always reliable Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen gave a very rememorable performance that carried the movie despite the supporting case.  Also, the movies show more sides of a character that Lance normally plays.  I recommend this movie.  By Lafemmenikita07

Regrets Only... No Refunds For Fans!, November 6, 2005

Gentleman Caller "Bubby"
I hate to see great ideas go to waste. These days, it's rare that anyone ever has any new ideas in Hollywood. Everything has been done before, usually more than once. Sometimes concepts are adapted, and sometimes whole films are re-done... the most blatant slap in the face of creativity. When a film comes along that actually is original, I get excited. In fact, I'll even settle for a new twist on an old story. I get so tired of the same old thing, that even an ounce of creativity goes a long way with me.

It is with this spirit that I morn for this film. Sure, this type of thing has been tried before, but not exactly in this way. It is basically a new thought... poison a dinner party, so that they might be given the chance to purge themselves of their wrongdoings, and live new lives, free from their secrets and burdens of guilt. Always before, films in the horror and suspense genres have involved an antagonist that kills out of spite, evil, or some other wrong spirit. This one, however, is doing everything he can to give his friends a better life. That is a new and exciting twist.

I wish I could say the same thing about the final product. This laborious film stops and starts like a Ford Pinto with a flat tire. The first 20 odd minutes of the film race along so quickly that it is hard to keep up with who is who, and what the background of each of the characters is. Once things settle down, however, they really settle down. In fact, the majority of the second act of the picture consists of characters wondering around alone. During this section of the film, many questions are answered. Unfortunately, somebody forgot to inform the audience of the questions. Instead of major shocking revelations, the film leaves the viewer asking, "why do I care?"

Why, indeed? Why not either save your money, or watch something else.

Included on this disc is a trailer for the film, as well as a couple trailers for other Lion's Gate films. Unfortunately, that is all there is. No photo gallery, no production notes... nothing. Sometimes, a studio will try to save a stinker of a film by loading the disc up with extras. Other times, the studio sees the film as a lost cause, and puts it out on the market with as little effort as possible. It looks like the latter option is the one that was chosen in this case.

This is yet another case of a good idea that was not properly developed. Dropping viewers into the middle of the story without first developing the characters was probably not the best idea. Glossing over most of the second act was also not exactly inspired filmmaking. Aside from the well-mixed soundtrack, there's not much positive to say about this title. This is a disc that is not recommended for anyone, even Lance Henricksen fans. For a similar film that was actually done well, check out Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley in Death and the Maiden.

Lance Henriksen's Movie Devil on the Mountain title Changed to Sasquatch Mountain
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Whatever!!!!!!

"Devil on the Mountain", another movie about bigfoot, has had a title change to "Sasquatch Mountain" according to our sources.  The movie is scheduled for the Sci-Fi channel in September 2006.  So don't miss the movie.  Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen is always enjoyable to watch perform. I just adore this actor's work.  By Blogmaster Lafemmenikita07

Lifetime Achievement Award from Fangoria at the Fangoria

(Who is this Super Fan "Rather Tenacious"?  This Super Fan gets around and supports the artistic work of her "posse" of well selected actors and actresses quite well.  Appears she is not a source to be $%^&* with.  Oh well, maybe that is why her handle is "Rather Tenacious")

By Blogmaster Lafemmenikita07

By the way, Lance is an Actor not a "Star" which is a highly overrated word and for those of you that do not know it the term "Star" is very passé and implies that the person cannot act.  In other words the actor and/or actress used some other assets to "make it in this cut throat business".  Hey, do not "kill the messenger".  I am just passing around the latest "not to say lingo".  And if I use it this blogsite well it will be a "Freudian slip".  By Blogmaster Lafemmenikita07

About the Blogmaster

I am Lafemmenikita07 and I am a blogger and Blogmaster of several sites. What started off, as a stress reliever has become a hobby and a passion.  At first I would ponder what I am going to write about.  Well, I have been blogging for approximately 6 to 7 months and I have numerous draft entries and the materials for new entries that I just can not get to.

While I can not believe how much I enjoy blogging.  I can not believe at this stage of my life I am still discovering myself and unleashing talents that I did not know I had.  (This is based on feedback by "true" friends that I have allowed to see my artistry and their responses were phemonical even from the toughest of critics.)

When I am blogging I often lose track of time.  Before you know, it is time to go to bed during the week and/or I miss out on most of the best parts of the weekend that have came and gone.

Blogging can be additive.  However when I am expressing myself I want to do it myself.  Not my assistants.  I do include other bloggers and film reviewers on my blog for balance.  However, when I sat down at the computer for my quiet time it is my time and my work.

I would like to describe my personality traits that led to my internet handle and how I identify with the fictional character La Femme Nikita from the television series starring Actress Peta Wilson.  I think the best way to do this is to brainstorm and write down everything.  Here goes:

Re-Watching Jennifer 8 starring Lance Henriksen and Andy Garcia
Mood:  happy
Topic: Worth the Re-Watch

Wow it is nothing like watching an older but goodie movie that you like even if you know what is going to happen.  Sometimes I want to snuggle and watch something I know is going to be enjoyable in lieu of the unknown. At least that is the case with Jennifer 8.  I enjoy this movie because Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen co-stars and has a significant part in the movie before he is killed.  In addition, Actor Lance Henriksen has the opportunity to show his versatility as an actor.  Lance Henriksen portrays anger, frustration, happiness, laughter, and jokes as police officer Freddy Ross.  Actress Betty Baker plays Lance’s wife, Margie Ross.
Lance is great in this movie and looks good and healthy.
There is quite a lot of swearing by Lance Henriksen’s character; however, given the time period of the movie that is the way men spoke around each other.  Of course the foul language was not used in the presence of any female characters.  I think Lance would object to that.  I met Lance Henriksen at the 2006 Fangoria Horror Convention in Burbank, California on June 2006 and had the opportunity to chat just a little at the celebrity bash.

Lance is so polite and well mannered that I could not imagine him swearing like the character does in this movie in the presence of a women and/or kids.   In addition, seeing Andy Garcia again reminded me of how much I enjoy his acting.  I have always for the most part enjoyed watching Andy Garcia performances in most roles that he has played.  However, I have not followed Andy's lifetime achievements like I am doing with Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen.  The depth of emotion that Lance Henriksen can portray often not saying a word is phemonicial.  It reminds me of a favorite quote (author unknown) "If you do not understand my silence, you will not understand my words".  By Lafemmenikita07

Reviews/Film; A Serial Killer, a Blind Girl and a Footloose Detective

By JANET MASLIN
Published: November 6, 1992, Friday

Andy Garcia has a profile to recall Barrymore's, which is as good a reason as any to watch "Jennifer 8," in which he steps up to a starring role. As Detective John Berlin, Mr. Garcia smolders his way through this story of a serial killer, a beautiful blind witness (Uma Thurman) and a footloose detective trying to make his way in a new town. Professionalism is not necessarily John Berlin's strongest suit. "I'll tell you what," he says to Helena, the blind girl. "If I promise to stop being a cop, will you promise to stop being a witness?"

Most detective thrillers keep an eye toward the extracurricular, but in "Jennifer 8" this tendency goes unusually far. The writer and director Bruce Robinson, who also directed "How to Get Ahead in Advertising" and "Withnail and I," seems strongly drawn to his supporting characters and their colorful lives. Sometimes this can go too far: the fact that Berlin's boss (Kevin Conway) sports a scraggly beard and likes to paint by numbers probably reveals more about him than any audience wants to know. Still, Mr. Robinson has created a lively array of small-town figures in northern California, and given them stories that stretch beyond the limits of a suspense plot.

This is a lucky thing, since the film's mystery eventually proves to be its weakest element. Though Mr. Robinson begins on a note that seems brutal even for this genre -- a severed hand covered with old noodles, found at a garbage dump -- he quickly abandons any taste for such unpleasantness. Indeed, the film's subsequent gentleness can be downright bizarre, or at least precedent-setting. This may be the only thriller in which a blind woman is stalked by a killer in an abandoned house, cornered by him, and then given a warning and allowed to go free.

Just as the plot softens during "Jennifer 8," so, too, does John Berlin. Initially displaying great deductive skills, he can figure out what a pattern of tiny scars on the hand means. But he later becomes significantly slower on the uptake. Increasing attention is paid to Mr. Garcia's ability to hold the film together through sheer force of personality, which is not always an easy task. This actor has a quiet appeal that is put to the test by the film's own quiet stretches, which may be why he occasionally bursts into flashes of hoarse, unexpected rage. The star, while skilled and eminently watchable, sometimes winds up being overshadowed by those around him.

It doesn't help that Ms. Thurman, playing Helena on a wan, neurasthenic note, seldom summons the requisite passion once Helena and John have begun an affair. During the latter part of the film, when much of John's energy is devoted to protecting Helena, his actions are made to seem more purposeless than they should. This leads to a denouement that is nothing if not bewildering, especially since "Jennifer 8" begins on such a hardboiled note. (Incidentally, the title is a kind of John Doe reference to the serial killer's string of victims, most of whom are never even discussed during the story.)

Among the attention-getting supporting characters are Kathy Baker and Lance Henriksen as the long-lost friends who have helped John land this new job after the breakup of his marriage; Ms. Baker gushes convincingly over the new arrival while Mr. Henriksen, as her husband, becomes John's sidekick and mentor on the job. John Malkovich has an utterly scene-stealing turn as the interrogator who grills Berlin once he himself has become a crime suspect. Mr. Malkovich's sly, languid confidence is so absolute that it upstages the less solid characters who surround him.

One of the most surprising things about "Jennifer 8," a strikingly atmospheric film even when not an entirely convincing one, is a running time that is in excess of two hours. Losing 20 minutes would almost certainly have heightened the film's sense of purpose, which is sometimes in danger of drifting away. Conrad Hall's evocative cinematography, which accentuates the damp, forbidding climate in which the story takes place, is especially helpful in keeping this otherwise rambling thriller on track.

"Jennifer 8" is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It includes nudity, profanity and a few brief ghoulish touches. Jennifer 8 Written and directed by Bruce Robinson; director of photography, Conrad L. Hall; edited by Conrad Buff; music by Christopher Young; production designer, Richard MacDonald; produced by Gary Lucchesi and David Wimbury; released by Paramount Pictures. Running time: 127 minutes. This film is rated R. John Berlin . . . Andy Garcia Helena Robertson . . . Uma Thurman Freddy Ross . . . Lance Henriksen Margie Ross . . . Kathy Baker John Taylor . . . Graham Beckel Citrine . . . Kevin Conway St. Anne . . . John Malkovich

Another Review

Plot: Detective John Berlin arrives in the small town of Eureka to take up a position on the local police department. When a severed hand is found in the town dump, Berlin becomes obsessed with solving the case. He pieces together a pattern of other similar murders which seems to make the case for a serial killer who targets blind women. However the department accuses him of chasing phantoms. Undeterred, Berlin presses on on his own, and duly becomes involved with blind music teacher Helena Robertson, the roommate of the girl with the severed hand. But Berlin's involvement unwittingly exposes Helena as a witness who can identify the killer and marks her as a target.

This is quite an effective psycho-thriller. Although it received a theatrical release it didn't set the world on fire, despite some good reviews. It is easy to see why - its effectiveness comes from its quietness and slowly absorbing mood and its stars are not at their most expressive. It starts very well - the first half-hour holds one's attention through Andy Garcia's obsessive quest to uncover details of the killings and make a case for the existence of a serial killer, which is placed up against a classic struggle with a department who do not believe him. But then the film sort of slows down - the detective story dissipates about a third of the way in and the romance with Uma Thurman comes to the forefront. And then about two-thirds of the way through the film completely jumps tracks and turns into a wronged man thriller where Garcia has to prove to an Internal Affairs investigation that he is not a killer. This latter third is certainly the film's most absorbing part with the script managing to cleverly turn everything that happened when Lance Henriksen was killed at the institute around to seem either an accident or to point to Garcia being the killer. John Malkovich's performance as the Internal Affairs officer, indifferently aloof, quietly mannered, yet persistent and implacable, is absolutely superb. But the whole sequence comes as such a jarring jump of tracks away from the rest of detective story, it takes some time for one to adjust to it, although the film does at least recover in time to build to an effective ending.
One fine aspect of the film is the photography - the film is all wintry exteriors (the only autumn exteriors symbolically come at the end when the troubles have passed) and shadowy duskily lit rooms. The performances vary - the two leads are weak. Garcia has never given a performance that quite equalled his memorable one as the drug dealer in 8 Million Ways to Die (1986) - he is too smooth and handsome to make any distinction. Thurman seems a little distantly composed in a role that with a more emotive playing could have become a great performance. The best performance comes from the aforementioned Malkovich. Also good is the always reliable Lance Henriksen who gives a credible performance of rough-edged sympathy. Despite its considerable inconsistencies in tone, the film nevertheless does work.
 Cast:
Andy Garcia (Sergeant John Berlin), Uma Thurman (Helena Robertson), Lance Henriksen (Sergeant Freddy Ross), John Malkovich (St Anne), Graham Beckel (Sergeant John Taylor), Kathy Baker (Margie Ross), Kevin Conway (Chief Citrine)
Director/Screenplay - Bruce Robinson, Producers - Gary Lucchesi & David Wimbury, Photography - Conrad L. Hall, Music - Christopher Young, Special Effects - Dale Martin & Mike Vezina, Production Design - Richard MacDonald. Production Company - Paramount.

Lance Henriksen May Be Off to Belgium for the 2006 Fantasy, Anime, Comics, Toys and Science-fiction Convention (F.A.C.T.S)
Mood:  special
Topic: For the Fans!!!!!!!

If every thing works out well, Northern Europeans will be delighted to have Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen spent 2 days at the Fantasy, Anime, Comics, Toys, and Science-Fiction (F.A.C.T.S.) convention scheduled for October 2006 in Belgium.

2006 has been a great year for Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen.  There has been no shortage of work and his popularity among his fans and peers has grown expontentially.  This is well deserved for somebody that has given of himself to the public to entertain us through various modes of artistry including one-of-a-kind pottery for more than 25 years.

On June 2, 2006 Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the  Fangoria Horror Convention in Burbank, California by Anchor Bay, IDT, and Creation Entertainment. Many Fans and celebrities were at the convention to see Lance Henriksen receive his award and listen to him speak so "down to earth" about his past and current projects, answer questions from the audience, and of course it wouldn't be Lance if he had not shared a bit of humor.  Despite his serious roles when Lance is "out and about" among the fans he is very funny, at ease with his fans, and just a geniune person.

Holding Lance Henrilsen's Lifetime Achievement Award is Lance's newly met fan and admirer called "Rather Tenacious".  She was of the few fans that had the opportunity to look at this award up close and get a picture of it at the 2006 Fangoria Horror Convention in Burbank, California, June 2006.

For example sources say that Lance really didn't care for his big trailer he had during the filming of the series "Millenium" that aired for approximately 3 years, 1996 through 1999.  Lance wanted to be with the rest of the cast and the crew. Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen is taken back by all the support from his fans and his popularity.  Sources indicate that Lance Henriksen does'nt think of himself as "a star".  Lance just loves to work and enjoy people and his life and his great wife and children. All of these things make Lance Henriksen's life complete.   And don't forget Lance enjoys riding horses.

According to Lance Henrisken, he feels he has to give something back.  Well, I would like to say if Lance Henriksen believes he owes us something well the debt has been paid a long time ago.  So Kudos to this "man of steel" with a "heart of gold."  Let's give Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen a "hand".

What is a Responsible Blogger?
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: A Fan's Actor!!!!!!!!!!!

Due to the recent events surrounding the stalking of Actor Colin Farrell, in our opinion Fans, Bloggers, Blogmasters, and Webmasters must use the data obtained about the person or persons in their website responsibly.

Do not allow yourselves to get caught up in the "indexing" race trying to get your site indexed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and/or the most popular by disclosing private information or data on your sites.

We are responsible for the content on our websites.  Therefore, if you have the "real" address of your celebrity and/or a picture of their homes do not post them on your sites.  If you have their personal home telephone or cell number do not post that information.  Do your part to protect your celebrity in the same manner you would want to be protected.  Being the most popular website on the internet at the expense of subjecting a celebrity and/or any other "public" person to "stalkers" and/or other sick people that want to harm them is not worth it.  And please do not post non-public private pictures of their children.

If you have not been stalked you have no idea of the emotions involved in the ordeal.  In addition, do not be naive.  Celebrities and other “public” figures are not the most stalked group of people. We are.  Yes, “Joe Blow” public.   The only difference is that the "public" figure's stalking becomes a news event.

This incident with Actor Colin Farrell is very disturbing for our staff because we have member(s) that have been stalked and eventually attacked by the stalker.   So again please, we urge you Fans, Bloggers, Blogmasters, and Webmasters to join our cause to protect each other and the people that are the subjects of our websites.

Please join La Femme Nikita07 and Associates in protecting the private information of those mentioned above and all people.

More Fangoria 2006 Include the Artistry of Lance Henriksen in your World

Lance Henriksen received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Fangoria, Creation Entainment, IDT Entertainment and Anchor Bay.  And while on stage addressing the crowd Lance received a standing ovation.

Later that night at the celebrity bash Lance Henriksen shared his award with a fan named "Rather Tenacious."

Hi my name is "Rather Tenacious" and I was one of a few fans that had the opportunity to look at and hold Lance Henriksen's Lifetime Achievement Award.  During my excitement I looked at it; however, I did'nt really pay attention to the words.  In other pictures that La Femme Nikita07 and Associates will post at a later date the photo of the award is clearer.  However for now we know that the awards reads:  Weekend of Horror, June 2006, Lifetime Achievement  Award presented to Lance Henriksen by Fangoria Magazine & Creation Entertainment for enduring contribution to the horror, fantasy and science fiction genres  By "Rather Tenacious" for Lafemmenita07

About Lance Henriksen the Artist
Mood:  special
Topic: Simply Beautiful!!!!!!!!!

Below writing by Lafemmenikita07

These beautiful works of art were truly created by a real "artist" that happens to be an actor.  I believe Lance Henriksen was an artist before he became an actor.  Can there be a difference?  Does one outweigh the only?  I don't think so in the case of Lance Henriksen.  An artist enjoys creating and giving and so does a "real" actor.  An actor continuously challenges himself/herself to try new ideas, concepts, methods, and techniques and so does a true artist.  This is a fairly simplistic way of describing the works of the muti-talented Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen.

Note , however, that everybody that is in a movie, film, on television and/on stage may be called actors; however, is what they do really acting or just getting by?  Are they in this business for the wrong reasons such as vanity?  If they are they will not successfully survive.  Fans that review the many forms of artistry without bias and prejudice and no monetary compensation or gifts make some of the best critics and can be brutally honest.  So if a person is not a “true” artist or actor well, what is done in the dark shall come to light.

Regarding Lance Henriksen you do not have to be concerned about what was written in the paragraph above because Lance Henriksen is the real thing.

We “tip our hats off” and make a “toast” to Actor/Artist Lance Henriksen.  To see and purchase Lance Henriksen beautiful artwork click on something like  “Inside the World of the Artistry of Lance Henriksen located throughout this blog site.  By Lafemmenikita07

Was Lance Henriksen Ready to Meet Fan Rather Tenacious?
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Good Old Fashion Charm

When "Rather Tenacious" asked her mother how (RT) she was as a child her mother replied:  Very particular.  The world should have prepared itself for this multi-dimensional, eccentric, assertive, and aggressive child turned women a long time ago.  Instead "Rather Tenacious" grew up and took the world by surprise.  "Rather Tenacious" wears "many hats" and has a magnetic personality".  You like her or don’t and/or understand her or tolerate.  Either way you are going to waiver in your decision because "Rather Tenacious" cannot be "typecast".

"Rather Tenacious" met Lance Henriksen at the photo oop early evening on 6/2/2006 at the Fangoria Horror Convention in Burbank, California. There wasn't time for anything other than hi and a whisper to Lance Henriksen about how "Rather Tenacious" would like the photo. "Rather Tenacious" also met Lance's agent; however. "Rather Tenacious" decided to (withhold his name.)

"Rather Tenacious" knew she was going to the celebrity bash later that night and that Lance Henriksen was going to make a cameo appearance. However," Rather Tenacious" did not expect to have further contact with Lance Henriksen.

Then at the celebrity bash Adam, Co-CEO of Creation Entertainment announced that Lance Henriksen was going to visit each table and chat and take pictures. "Rather  Tenacious" couldn't believe it.

At the celebrity bash, while Lance was "doing his thing" around the bash Lance's agent stood most the entire time.  "Rather Tenacious", "Libby" and "Minnesota" were the only people at the table on the left portion of the room near the edge of the stage.   "Rather Tenacious" noticed Lance’s agent standing looking kind of tired. "Rather Tenacious" wondered why he would not sit down. (Lance’s agent was not going to be questioned about his client, Lance.)  Besides very few people knew whom the gentlemen was.   However, how "Rather Tenacious" meeting Lance Henriksen's agent is another story.  Since Lance's agent saw some familiar faces ("Libby" and "Rather Tenacious") and his feet were screaming the agent sat down at the table with Lance Henriksen's Lifetime Achievement Award (from Fangoria, Creation Entertainment, IDT Entertainment, and Anchor Bay) placed on the table.  "Libby" asked Lance's agent if she could take a picture of it. The agent said okay. So "Rather Tenacious" took a picture of the award and picked it up and posed for "Libby" to take the picture. Since Lance had so many tables to get to "Rather Tenacious" with permission picked up Lance's award got ready to strike another pose like Madonna would when Lance walked up to the table and said you have my award and sat down between "Rather Tenacious" and "Minnesota." "Rather Tenacious" looked directly into Lance Henriksen's beautiful green eyes and told him what most people know about her and that is: "I can be rather tenacious when I want to be." Then "Rather Tenacious" starting posing when Lance got her attention jokingly by asking "Rather Tenacious” a question.  (question withheld)

"Rather Tenacious" was not uncomfortable speaking to Lance Henriksen while sitting so closely. So "Rather Tenacious" looked into Lance Henriksen's face with a warm and friendly smile and replied to Lance.   Afterward, the picture was taken with "Rather Tenacious" still holding Lance's award while "Libby" and " Minnesota" watched.   "Rather  Tenacious" smiled because she had heard that Lance had a great sense of humor and was not lacking in the joking area.  However, "Rather  Tenacious" did not imagine she would see that side of him.  "Rather Tenacious" went to sleep on June 2, 2006 with a smile on her face because she had a pleasant experience meeting Lance Henriksen again.   As a result, "Rather Tenacious" provided a piece entitled "Lance Henriksen's Star" for our website.  Check it out.   By Lafemmenikita07.

Lance Henriksen and The Day Lincoln Was Shot
Mood:  special
Topic: Neverending Story

Lance Henriksen has left "a mark" in history like no other portraying President Abraham Lincoln with such dignity and respect. And for a bit of trivia I believe a form of "the secret service" came after the assassination. When I was a child President Abraham Lincoln was one of my favorite presidents. The second was George Washington. I guess I am a rebel for the cause because I want movies like this especially for our children. By Lafemmenikita07

In the afternoon of Friday, April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln met with his cabinet and signed an executive order lifting the blockade of the South. That evening, he took his wife to see a new play, Our American Cousin, at Ford's Theatre in downtown Washington. While watching the comedy, he was shot and mortally wounded by John Wilkes Booth, an actor and Southern patriot. Lincoln died the next day -- the first U.S. President to be assassinated. One hundred and thirty-three years later, the events of April 14 remain a defining moment in American history." "Lincoln's assassination has been chronicled in numerous books and movies.

The TNT Original film THE DAY LINCOLN WAS SHOT is based on the best-seller of the same title, written by Jim Bishop. It is a different take on the assassination of our 16th President -- it chronicles the days and hours leading up to the assassination from the perspective of both Lincoln and his murderer, John Wilkes Booth. "I think people have the impression that John Wilkes Booth was a mad actor who, in a moment of insanity, killed the President simply because he had the opportunity," says director John Gray. "In truth, it started out as a kidnapping conspiracy with Booth and a band of conspirators, but then Richmond fell and Lee surrendered and the plan turned to murder." TNT's film tells the dramatic story of the conspiracy and its tragic turn." "Filming a movie based on recognizable historical figures always poses the challenge of casting actors who resemble their characters. Playing the role of the distinguished Abraham Lincoln in the TNT film is Lance Henriksen. "My initial reaction was sheer terror, because I have seen through my life, even as a youngster, romantic versions of this heroic figure and I found him hard to relate to," says Henriksen. "I didn't really 'find' Lincoln until I actually started doing the film." "When I saw Lance, it just clicked that was the face of Lincoln," says Gray. "We didn't want a grandfatherly Lincoln -- we wanted an edgy, tough-looking man who looked like he has grown up hard, as Lincoln. I think Lance really fit the bill." In preparation for his role, Henriksen read many of the President's speeches and also grew a beard like Lincoln's. "I felt this role was very risky -- if you fail at doing one of the most poignant men in all of history, you have really failed," says Henriksen."

"Playing the equally complex role of John Wilkes Booth is Rob Morrow.

"This script attracted me because it humanizes Booth," says Morrow. THE DAY LINCOLN WAS SHOT brings Booth to the forefront and shows what his motivations were. He was a very well-known actor and quite popular in his time. "This is a guy who really believed in his cause, and that is what is frightening. He was a rational man who was very well-liked, and yet he was capable of this act of horror," says Gray. "Booth didn't seem to be insane, which many people would like to believe," says Morrow. "He truly believed he was doing something noble -- his politics and his ego seemed to have been his motivating source." "Another interesting aspect of TNT's film is the relationship between Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. "The scenes between Lincoln and Mary are love scenes. Mary was a very troubled woman who expressed that love in strange and sometimes disturbing ways, but they were both very devoted to one another," says Gray. "The toughest thing about playing someone who actually lived is you are dependent on the reports of others. It's not like creating a fictional character where you are at total liberty, so I feel a sense of responsibility to the woman and to her family," says Donna Murphy, who portrays Mrs. Lincoln. "I read many biographies and collections of her letters, and I came away with mixed messages of who she really was. What I did gather and what I thought was appropriate to use for telling her story, is that she was a well-educated, very intelligent, very sensitive woman whose husband was everything to her."

"The production team re-created several historic locations, including the White House, war-torn Richmond, Virginia, and the infamous Ford's Theatre. "Our thought from the beginning was that what we didn't want was a sepia-toned image of this time, which is often a filmmaker's first choice when creating a historical drama," says Gray. "The reality of the time was that the streets were muddy, there was raw sewage everywhere and soot in the air. So we tried to give this picture a very cold, blue, dirty look." Gray looked to production designer Roy Smith to design the settings. A grandiose facade of the White House was created at the Millenium Studios lot in Virginia, and Ford's Theatre was created in a theatre in Richmond. "The facade of the boxes in the theater are as close as we could possibly get to the ones in Ford's Theatre," says Smith. "Millions of people visit Ford's Theatre and are familiar with what it looks like, and we were very conscience of that when re-creating the theatre scene." "My aim with this film was to make the definitive movie about the Lincoln assassination," says Gray. "I hope it will give people insight into what really happened and the events surrounding that day. And I hope that people who see the movie will come away understanding how someone like Booth could act out of patriotism or whatever misguided obsession, and the enormous cost of those selfish acts."

Topic: Need Fan Input

If you attended the May 2006 convention in Cherry Hill and would like to send a link to your website about your experiences, send photos, write articles about the show, etc. Please forward to me and tell me your handle name or whatever name you would like to use. By Lafemmenikita07

A Fan with a handle of "Libby" met Lance Henriksen at Monster Mania in May 2006 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Doesn't "Libby" have a beautiful smile? That is the affect Lance has on fans even though Lance displays a serious pose in his pictures. I think he is use to that. If he just knew what women think about when he smiles he would smile more often. Thank God Lance can not "read minds". I heard that the convention rocked!!!! By Lafemmenikita07

Lance was there several days hanging out with celebrities and fans. Females call Lance a "sweetheart" and men call him "cool" and/or "The Man".

By the way, Lance is a genius at economics. He knows the supply and demand curve expertly. He has a gift of making each fan that he meets and chats with feel special. 50 to 100 years from now if we do not destroy our world sooner,

Lance Henriksen's movies will be remembered. However, most importantly his reachable approach with the fans will be greatly remembered. By Lafemmenikita07
